Testamony of Salvation
During the summer of 1977 our family moved from Kansas to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
My
sister was living in Dayton, Ohio and had accepted Jesus as her
Saviour. She drove over to Pittsburgh for a weekend visit in March of
1978.
That Friday evening she talked to Helen and I about her
salvation and how we too could be saved. She showed us many verses from
her bible.
Because of an early flight Saturday morning, I went to bed without knowing how to be saved.
The
next morning I arose early for my flight. I knew I needed salvation but
didn't know how to receive it. I was a little apprehensive about flying
knowing I was not saved. I placed the gospel tract my sister had given
me into my pocket. Ironically, I didn't read the tract. I flew out and
back that same day. By the time I returned home my sister had returned
to Dayton.
I asked Helen if she got saved and what she had done
to get saved. She said, I just prayed, confessing that I'm a sinner,
asked for forgiveness and for Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour.
I
went upstairs, got on my knees and prayed, confessing my sins and
asking Jesus to forgive me and be my Lord and Saviour. That day, I
received Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
